The UK’s most expensive hotel rooms

If you fancy enjoying some luxury in our fair isles, then these are the hotel rooms for you!
Earlier this month I wrote about the most expensive hotel rooms in the world. However, don’t be fooled into thinking that such high-end accomodation is the exclusive preserve of our foreign friends – the UK has plenty of pricy rooms to offer too!
The UK used to have the most expensive hotel rooms in Europe, but polls show that it has recently fallen down the ranks in terms of cost, so now might be a good time to find a bargain, albeit a fairly expensive one!!
The Langham and The Lanesborough offer the most expensive hotel suites in the country. At around £5,000 – £6,000 a night for a stay in their premier suites, they are considerably more costly than their nearest contenders around the country – but there are still some impressively expensive hotels elsewhere if you know where to look.
If you would rather stay out of the hustle and bustle of London, then you don’t have to travel far. Just outside the capital in Berkshire is the luxurious Cliveden House Hotel. A king-sized deluxe suite will set you back around £1,082 a night, but you do get use of the spa thrown in. If your pockets are still weighing you down, you could partake of the world’s most expensive afternoon tea. You get a side serving of white truffles (retailing at £2,500 per kilo), Beluga Caviar (at a cost of £4,000 per kilo) and Da Hong Pao Tea (which costs over £2,000 per kilo), as well as a glass of Dom Perignon Rose champagne. This small snack will set you back £550 per couple (might be wise to down the whole bottle of champagne for that price).
